Hey!
Thanks for all your emails and sweet pictures! All my nieces and nephews are changing a ton!
We had a really good week! We're meeting 2 young guys and a family right now that are all progressing well and are really interested in the gospel. Especially one of the two guys. He is a 21 year old named Kim Jin Young. We ate dinner with him last night at our stake president’s house and had a reeeaaaally good lesson. He felt like living the gospel is what he needs to do and is going to try and find out if it's true or not through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. He hasn't been to church yet, but he's committed to come next week and I think he'll probably be able to be baptized in about a month.
We saw a lot of success at a college earlier in the week with finding people to teach, but as we met a couple of them for the 2nd time they turned out to not be very good. One of them was actually a pastor from Africa and when we met the 2nd time he tried to teach us a sermon! We had another experience that was kind of similar last week too. It seemed like Satan was working extra hard to try and discourage us, but it actually motivated us to go and find some people that were actually prepared to hear the gospel. It also strengthened my testimony of the doctrine of the gospel as I studied about some of the things that other churches don't believe like the need for prophets and the qualifications for a prophet.
Next week is a holiday here called Chu Suk. It's like Thanksgiving and it is 3 days long. Most Koreans go to there hometowns during it so a lot of our investigators won't be able to meet. Our mission is having a soccer tournament and a training meeting/dinner during the holiday. For the soccer tournament each zone is a team. Our zone ordered some sweet soccer jerseys, shorts and socks for 20 bucks a piece. If we don't win, at least we'll look good! I'll send ya some pictures!
Have a good week! Love,
Elder Lufkin
